Soft Skills learnt: I learnt that teamwork is really important when doing projects, especially this one. When there are some doubts while doing this project, the team came together to discuss what we should do and whether or not to correct the entry. Even when deciding if we should include the void cheque, the group discussed and we finally made the decision to include it in although we were not taught.

Not only that, communication is also very important among the group members. Whenever in doubt, it is best to raise it so that we will not key in the wrong data into the ACCPAC system.

We must also be able to manage our time well. As there are only 2 labs for the whole of A&F cohort to use, we must always check against the labs' timetable and if we have free time before the labs are available, we will go to the free access labs or other available labs to discuss the next step. This way, when we go in, we will not waste time discussing and just go straight into doing the entries.

Contributions made: I helped to type in the various transactions and check the entries. I also did the GL Data entry form and saved the required files that we need to print.
some pictures to share about what we have done during our discussions

We started to meet to discuss about this project during the holidays and we tried to do as much as we could during the holidays because we know that once school starts, we will not have enough time to complete the project.
Keying in all the opening balances were tedious as we had to start from scratch and there were many accounts. Keying the opening balances already took about 2 hours and we have yet to check if the amounts keyed in were correct or not.
However, when we were checking through, we realised that we made many mistakes. we corrected them and posted the batch lists in sequence. However, after all the mistakes, we did not have the confidence to press the 'Post' button. Eventually we did and printed all the relevant documents.
To me, i feel that there are not enough computers for us to use because of all the lessons in that lab and the number of groups from different classes also doing ACCPAC. it's somewhat like a first-come-first-serve basis to get the computers. if you are late, there are totally no computers and you will either have to wait until groups leave or you have to come back the next day to do your project. Although we did complete our project on time, time is definitely not enough and we have to stay back after lessons just to check and make sure that nothing is wrong before doing the next step.
Another problem is that the more we do the project, the longer the saving time will be. There was once when we came back on Saturday and the lab technician had to wait for us to finish saving our ACCPAC files before she could go back. The lab was suppose to close at 1pm but instead, we left at about 1.30 that day. We felt bad for the technician because it was already past the closing time.
What we have learnt: We always need to back up another copy of the project. In case we do something wrongly, we still have the backup and we do not need to start from scratch again.
As the deadline comes nearer and nearer, i feel both stressed and happy. There were still some parts that we were unsure of and we were at a loss. Luckily, there are some of our friends who encountered similar problems in their projects and they helped us to correct these errors. We also managed to rectify some problems our own by thinking logically. We felt happy when we finally completed and we felt that our efforts really paid off.
